Canada, there's no analogue to Alberta and Interior BC in the UK.

In the UK the left-wing party can actually win.

Maybe if they found oil in Ballymena. Alberta is rich and loves the private sector.

Voted Canada, because UK is at least influenced by the EU which is more left-wing than UK. Canada might be more liberal than UK, but i believe UK is more left-wing although Labour has still a lot of work to do there, and with moderate Labourites like Blair they will fail and continue to diminish into oblivion. Corbyn has saved that party, despite what the media wants to let the people believe. Both countries are definitely much more to the right than EU.

The UK is far more polarized, so you can argue it is both more left and more right wing than Canada.

Quebec also muddies the waters quite a bit. Different ethnic/language groups will be right/left wing in different ways. It makes it harder for Canadian politicians to be as polarized because they have to worry about offering doing the other group.

From 1945-1979: I would say Canada

1979-2006: I would say the UK handily

2006-Present: Harder to say

The same answer as usual is that as one is a federal country, the answer depends on where in the country you are, whereas the UK is not very federal at all.

Wouldn't Scotland qualify as a comparison? Then again Scotland is indeed a lot more left wing than Quebec.
