Damn, looking over it seems like I need to take a stringent diet.

How about killing off 95% of the human population and making the other 5% sterile?

That would probably save the planet right there.

Granted, it's probably extreme...

We don't need to save the planet, we need to save ourselves from clickbait-y headlines... *ba-dum-tss*

In all seriousness we Americans really eat too much meat. I get that most people don't care about their carbon footprint or even necessarily heatwaves or wildfire smoke, but we eat so much animal products and processed crap it's slowly killing us.

You know an action is far more enjoyable if you wait awhile to do it. You would enjoy it better if you ate it sparsely on special occasions.

If the implication here is that eating less meat is somehow just as extreme as killing off 95% of the population, then this is a profoundly moronic post.

I stopped eating meat six years ago for this reason, and I've been cutting back on my dairy for the last several months. It's really not that hard.

No, the implication is that we need to do more than just eat less meat and dairy.

Well to be perfectly frank, it is not so much as "saving the planet" that these discussions focus on but "saving our ability to live on the planet".

Barring destruction or mass extinction, both the planet and "life forms" are very likely to survive and evolve beyond our existence.

That is not to say it is any less important, just putting it in perspective.

This is exactly why your username is what it is.

The degradation of the human male continues on.

Explain the connection between eating meat and masculinity.

Nobody who claims that humans should eat less meat would disagree with that. In fact, from the article you just read: "avoiding meat and dairy is ‘single biggest way’ to reduce your impact on Earth". It's a simple lifestyle change that has other positive benefits and has a large effect per individual.

There's actually a reverse correlation, found by Alex Jones and Bolvian President Evo Morales.

See, farm animals are injected feminine hormones so they become larger, so when you eat them you become less manly.

So real men should become vegetarian of course

/s though I guess hormones in farm animals are a problem maybe? I imagine they are tightly controlled.

We aren’t going to ban meat, we’re just going to revert to the mean for civilizations as stratified as ours. Red meat for the elites, bread for the masses.

This is obviously a ploy to get everyone to become soyboys - are we sure a vegetarian diet doesn't lower sperm count???

Not necessarily true at all. It's not more difficult and not more expensive to consume just as many proteins as a vegetarian. And millions of Americans are fat as hell and eat way too much meat.

Color me skeptical on the whole climate change thing, but industrial animal farming amounts to animal abure and is wrong, and more people should become vegetarians.

eating a lot of meat doesn't make people fat.  Eating a lot of sweets and breads makes people fat.  Orange juice is worse for you than bacon.
