How come no "Kavanaugh energy" for Hugin?

He actually went down relative to other previous polls

Hugin didn't make any statement supporting Kavanaugh (except a tepid one when everything appeared over). He's not really aligned with the Trump people in NJ, despite Menendez's attacks. He's relying on independents.

This is also the one semi-competitive race where Trump and Kavanaugh by extension are clearly not popular.

Do you really think NJ voters are even aware he didnt put out such a statement?

The strong Trump supporters, who are the sort of people who would give him such a bump, certainly are. They don't like Hugin much at all.

If anyone got a bump, it was Menendez, and that was to be expected.

Interesting crosstabs showing that far more Menendez supporters are open to considering Hugin than vice versa. Not surprising, but Hugin still has some opportunity at late persuasion.
