Manchin is going to be yes. So, doesn't matter what Collins will decide. And ffs she should have decided already, what a stupid circus is she making, just making it worse for herself whatever she decides.

I doubt Manchin will vote yes while collins and murkowski vote no.

Yeah, it makes zero sense.

Manchin's goal here is to not be the deciding vote either way. If Collins is a Yay, he will vote Yay IMO. If she is a No, he will vote No.

As much as Kavanaugh is a reprehensible person, Collins and Manchin voting NO will doom Dem midterm hopes.

I think Collins is more at risk in a primary from voting no than she is in a general voting yes (where enough gullible “independents” will forget this in a few days, let alone two years).

She can run as an independent if wants to.

This is her smartest option- vote no, then plan on running as an Ind (she would easily win re-election as an Ind... and not have to worry about a Rep primary challenge).

Every old Republican senator coming up and essentially questioning Ford's credibility is a depressingly bad look.

EDIT: The more I'm listening to Inhofe the more I'm realizing he's essentially making the argument that being in power now makes up for being immature and potentially terrible in the past.

On standby to change my avatar to R-AZ. Sad It’s all down to Collins.
It's not going to make a difference how Collins votes at this point with the way Flake is going.
Wdym Flake isn't going the be the deciding vote.
If Collins were to vote no along with Murkowski tomorrow, and Manchin and Flake vote yes, that would make it 50-50 which would make the Vice President give it to Kavanaugh. If Collins is a yes, that would just be the same result as today, 51-49. Flake has been giving signals of voting yes as of this morning, and I doubt Manchin is going to switch to no.

This seems to be another indicator that Collins is leaning towards a yes vote. And McConnell's "optimism" probably means that he has enough votes to get Kavanaugh through.

The have to take a confirmation vote within 30 hours after cloture vote, as far as I know.

Then why not wait until Sunday to start cloture? Does McConnell just not care about Daines and his family?

Mitch doesn't give a s*** about anyone (other than those who donate to him or are extremely loyal), and we both know it.

It's the other way around. There's a mandatory 30 hours of floor time between cloture being invoked and the floor vote.
