I'm off the theory that it's a mix of that crazy pro-Trump ad and that one of the most important points in a congressional campaign, especially one with a really late priamry like Florida, is that you have a strong/piviot to the general because it is a completely different electoral. DeSantis bombed horribly and now everyone thinks he's a racist.

Gillum should be able to pull through by a couple points at this time.

This same poll had Nelson up 7, so it's definitely a bit generous to Gillum, but still, someone check on Sanchez, I'm worried about him.

Wow!  I'm really surprised with how good Gillum is doing.   It's a good kind of surprised though, lol.

I sincerely doubt the margin for Gillum is that high but after long enough I'd say the race is lean D if held today. Still there's a long time to go. I still think this finishes as a tossup but concede that Gillum is ahead and consistently. By how much? I'm not going to say +9 maybe like +3 like all the polls showed

Not sure how this can be a tossup when Gillum has lead every poll.

To be fair, only 2% of Democrats voting for DeSantis seems too good to be true. However, I’m very happy that Gillum continues to lead DeSantis and hopefully by November, my initial concerns about him won’t get in the way of his victory.

I just hope that when he wins, Gillum and friends can stop Scott from stealing 3 state Supreme Court seats with their illegal midnight appointment scheme. Otherwise Republicans are going to be emboldened to run wild with legislative gerrymandering in 2021.

Fine poll, though it looks like an outlier, similar to the senate poll. Gillum, however, seems to run a pretty solid campaign while DeSantis is a terrible candidate. Putnam would have been stronger.

Do their judges terms end at the same time? I read that towards the end of his term Governor Lawton Chiles and Governor-elect Jeb Bush agreed on a joint nominee to avoid controversy in 1998.

The thing is, Republicans know it's unconstitutional. They tried amending the constitution in 2014 to allow "preemptive appointments," but it failed to be approved. The problem is that you have to rely the state Supreme Court acting fast, and the justices who are retiring have to rule on this basically on their very last day. None of this should be possible but it's hard to rule it out given how f'd up some courts can be.

Democrats already tried to file a lawsuit to prevent this, but the Supreme Court said nothing has happened yet so there is nothing to rule on. Scott has already initiated the process though, which he did so by requesting a list of justices to appoint, so Dems filed another lawsuit, which is pending.

It may even be moot in the end since Rick Scott stacked the judicial vacancy commission with cronies, so Gillum might only receive a list full of right wing justices and have no other options.

Both recent polls seem to have Gillum only 2 points ahead of Nelson, which is good news for both of them.

I will be pleased to see my primary night prediction be smashed to bits on Election Day.  Gillum has run an amazingly exceptional campaign and his appearances show it.  He is simply better liked than DeSantis.
