Kavanaugh is throwing a huge wrench into the R plans. He clearly isnt going to "bow out", as he puts it, meaning the only way to get a new judge on the table....is for Trump to rescind Kavanaugh. Not good odds for the GOP confirmation.

The other option is what I prefer: he's used to getting what he wants. He got it from women as a young man and in his life since then, in his career and elsewhere. For once he's being called out on his behavior and he realizes he's not getting what he wants. Like any spoiled child, he's throwing a tantrum. For many rich men, a tantrum will eventually get them what they want. However, here, now, it's just exposing his true nature.

Right. I'm sure he's been coveting a seat on the Supreme Court for most of his career. Now that it looks like he's not going to get it, ever, and his career is going to be destroyed in the process to the point where it seems like it will be difficult for him to carry on as a Circuit Court judge, he's having a breakdown. It's hardly a surprising reaction to someone called to account for the first time in his pampered life.
