I have been wondering for a while if Graham has been having a change in his mental capacity.  He seems very different from just a couple years ago.

There us a definitive reason for his shift in tone. Her name is Katie Arrington.

Ford is the final nail in the midterm coffin of the Republicans and Trump.

Ford is the final nail in the midterm coffin of the Republicans and Trump.

Unsure, it can just as easily fire up the GOP base.

Sry Mike, but it can't.

Independents and women will eradicate Republicans in November.

He’s been bought or got to in some way.

You don’t go from being all John McCain lite to nearly bowing down before Trump in a matter of a couple of years.

I love hearing Booker's 2020 male vote evaporate before our ears.

Stay on topic RF. I don't want any flame wars to start around you. In fact one started leading to deletions.

Why not delete his post as well, then? It's disgusting.

Because I wanted to use it as a warning, and an example of what to me is off topic. This may be the most tightly moderated thread in the history of Atlas, done in real time. That was the judgement as to the way to proceed that I made after having to deal with the prior thread last night. And despite that, in my opinion, everybody has been able to get their points out, that are on topic.
Stop clogging up the thread with paternalistic moderation bloviations.  It’s far more irritating than Naso that you have to fondle every damn post because you’re in the mood to be in charge.

Fox News is "bemoaning" that the Pubs were not very effective so far. What my take is, and that Fox News seems not to fathom, is that this exercise is more about the Pub Senators saving themselves, and less about saving K. I applaud their using Mitchell personally.

There is nothing fun about moderating threads like this.

I agree, I think Amy Coney Barrett should be nominated. A young, bright intellectual woman. That should be adequate.

When the going gets tough, GOP senators get gone.  Sorry Brett... you’re on your own.

Yeah, the Republican base being "motivated" might only be relevant this year in states like WY or OK, but not where it really matters.

Independents will really make the difference there (just like in every recent mid-term election).

Even though they chose to have outside council do the questioning, I do wonder how this will affect Graham specifically (his comments are not helping him) and even Grassley. Of course, memory is short on these things, so probably not much, but it's still interesting to me.

Not necessarily stating that I agree with the tweet, but the national environment isn't the same, both in which way the winds are blowing and the fact that it's a midterm not a presidential election, so the focus isn't all on two people at the top of the ticket. That makes major events like this potentially more instructive.

This is really bad for females. Now many men across America will treat them with kid gloves, be less inclined to participate in one-on-one work projects alone, less inclined to pursue friendly and romantic relationships with them.

There is a potential backlash to all of this that will infantize women. Perhaps they want that, I don't know why they would.
Or.

Maybe.

They could find a happy middle ground where they treat women like people and not sexually assault them.

I hope that's not difficult for most.

What about those who are falsely accused? Teen Vogue writer Emily Lindin said innocent men should also "pay a price". Innocent men. That's disturbing, is it not?

This hasn't been a concern for me. It probably isn't a concern for any man without some sort of severe mental or moral defect.

Ill beliebe it when I see it.

Didn't you post the same thing a couple of weeks ago?  Anyway, hopefully you understand the word now.

Grassley’s probably retiring.

Yes, I think this can both be a hugely personal experience for millions of Americans and also not move anyone because so much has happened before this point.
