It's still annoying to me that so many ran in the Democratic primary. I know it's silly, but that just bugs me lol

There were only 8 in the MN primary. There were 12 in the CA primary.

Over 6,000 people voted for Nehlen in WI-01. That's over 6,000 too many--frightening.

Said Evers by 25%, almost dead on, the other nobodies were far behind, lol at Soglin.

In other good nears Earnell Lucas won, and two liberals are up for the Aldermanic seat in Milwaukee, replacing a moderate conservative. Aka should be one more streetcar supporter on the common council!

Milwaukee Democrats came out big time yesterday too, Dem Gov vs Rep Gov was 73-27. There have been some primaries in the past where Democrats have been in the low 60's in Milwaukee.

I am quite pleased with pretty much all these results. Primary turnout is an awful indicator of general election results, but it's nice to see Dems outvoting Pubs pretty substantially, and it's nice to see some "experts" FINALLY move this race to Tossup instead of "Titanium R 3 times in 4 years electoral god Walker"

Wisconsin is an open primary state. What if some of those 6,000 people were Democrats who wanted to get an easy to beat opponent in the general?

Considering the high turnout on the Dem side in that race, I think that is very very unlikely.

So Sarah Godlewski spent $150k on an ad to win the state treasurer’s primary. All for a job that pays $70k a year and requires no real work or duties. Hmm. I’m sure we’ll be seeing her name again for the 2022 Senate race after she wins this year.

Republicans stripped the job duties and tried to kill the job, Democrats want to make the job what it was before...

The stripping of powers from the office has apparently gone on for decades, advocated by both Republican and Democratic administrations:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Treasurer_of_Wisconsin#Reduction_of_powers_and_office_dissolution_attempts

Also, Godlewski has no plans to return its previous powers:

I mean more power to her, as I have little doubt she'll win this year given the environment and the fact that she's the only one in both parties who has run a serious campaign thus far. But it's pretty obvious she only intends to use it as a stepping stone for a higher office run as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Which is fine, since that's what most politicians do with the offices they have.

tbh I do kind of like the idea of a reasonable number of row offices serving as incubators for potential future Gov/Senate/other candidates (even if it doesn't always work out that way), provided they actually do the job they were elected for. Wisconsin's current setup seems reasonable. It could be worse - look at North Dakota or North Carolina Tongue

First post primary poll has Evers with a 5 point lead over Walker, 49 - 44.

Normally I dont like to take one poll and say a race is over, but PPP is a great pollster, and we have had Marist do this race and get similar results, not to mention the specials and judicial race. Lean D IMO.

Considering the bloodbath during the primaries (due to the important race on the Dems side and the Walker coronation on the other), this is a decent result for Walker. He should catch up when the Koch spending hits.

Compared to your typical trolling, hofoid, this is weak sauce. Also, it's not even logical, how would a hotly contested Dem primary benefit the Dem candidate?

The same way a hotly contested GOP primary benefitted Trump?

I’m just throwing words out there, I don’t know what he means either.

Walker is already trying to redefine Tony Evers by putting out an ad accusing him of not revoking a teacher's license to viewing pornography. I REALLY hope voters do not fall for this lie!

Hopefully we see results like this in November:

Now that he has an opponent, Walker is going full negative, as expected. I'm too lazy to find the exact article, but to paraphrase, Rebecca Kleefisch said Evers threatens our way of life in WI. The GOP is going to beat this teacher porn dead horse into the ground all the way until election day, whether the voters of WI are going to fall for this crap again remains to be seen.

In other news, flawless beautiful Russ Feingold endorsed Evers today.
