This reminds me of the Florida Senate/Colorado governor races in 2010. There will be a lot of angst about one candidate or the other dropping out, but in the end it won't make a difference since the winner will surpass or get very close to 50% anyway.

Also, Heinrich is very Flawless and Beautiful, while Mick Rich literally looks like an egg. So that should probably help him.
