I actually know quite a few people who would be this type of voter lol. Basically they are conservative immigrants who moved here in the 1990s and supported the Democrats cause they liked Bill Clinton and then viewed Bush to be terrible so disliked the GOP.

Since 2016, the Clintons and Bushes have lost power over their parties so they started voting more to their ideological beliefs

A deeply jaded anti-war progressive that probably was bribed to not vote Nader in 2000 and stick with Clinton in 2016.

Clinton's loss anyway was the last straw for blind support to Dems.

Probably a black guy who was invited by the Trump campaign to stand on the stage behind him for "diversity". Either before or after the speech, he gets to shake hands with Trump and thinks its really cool.

First guess could easily be an older Southern Democrat who took until 2020 to overcome his lifelong affiliation with the Democratic party.

Second guess would be : Older Asian-American voter (most likely Chinese or Vietnamese) who switched in 2020.

Third guess would be : Midwestern working class white who stuck to the Democratic party for their WC policies, doubted Trump's message because "he's a Republican" but benefited greatly from 2016-2020.

Someone who lost lots of money due to the lockdown.

Or someone in Zapata county who was extremely unimpressed with Biden's Hispanic outreach.

Seems pretty straightforward that this would be someone who voted based on COVID policy.

Many of those types also voted for Bush in the 2000s, though.

Either hated COVID restrictions or was afraid of riots and (if they were old enough to vote) was a Bush 88, Clinton 92, Clinton 96 voter.

True, another example I can think of is a single issue anti-vaxxer.

That single-issue anti-vaxxer voter may very well be Biden 2020/Trump or RFK Jr. write-in 2024, since vaccines weren't a major issue of the 2020 Presidential campaign, but other aspects of COVID were major ones during that election: mask mandates, capacity limits, remote learning in schools, and businesses closing.

A single issue anti vaxxer would be voting for cranks like Cynthia McKinney lmao. Why would someone motivated by a single issue consistently vote for candidates like Obama who have never entertained their position in even token ways?

Also Trump is very pro-vax, even if this is just because he wants to take personal credit for the Covid vaccine.

I should have said that in the context of 2020 they'd be a single issue anti-vax voter. Until about a decade ago there probably wasn't much correlation between your views on vaccines and the party you voted for and if anything conservatives liked to stereotype anti-vaxxers as tree hugging hippies so someone who was anti-vax and generally liberal could have voted straight Democrat prior to 2020.
