There are few greater threats to us than climate change's major impacts on both Fremont and beyond, and it is crucial that this region are leaders on climate change. It is not just crucial for our region, but it is crucial for all of Atlasia and beyond.

One of the ways we can do this is to  educate our children about the impacts of climate change. Not only that, but we can also educate them about the possible solutions to climate change, including training them for green jobs.

With all this in mind, I ask my fellow members of parliament to vote aye on the Climate Change Act.

Sponsors don't change between sessions. Also add a "(Debating)" to the header in parenthesis.

So can we get it voted on? Everyone likes it, no one wants to amend it, I don't see why we can't just vote on it already.

That's not how the standing orders work.

There is 72 hours of debate. After that or 36 hours of no debate, whichever comes later, there is suppose to be a 24 hour objection period until a final vote is open.

Yes, yes, I know the standing orders. I'm just venting my irritance that there isn't a way of speeding it up for bills everyone supports.

I mean you could motion to suspend the rules in the future but not worth it here since that requires 24 hours for objection.

Well, I'm going to call for a vote to happen in 24 hours now, if no objections occur.

Any members who wish to object have 24 hours to do so.

Also, ON Progressive, you need to change the thread title from DEBATING to Final Vote.

I guess I have, considering that I am messaging members who have not yet voted to inform them that the vote is open and asking that they vote.

Neither Scott nor myself (who combined have spent most of the calendar year being speaker) did that unless is what a major vote FTR. I'd personally try to pick my spots; people will eventually tune out if you spam them too much. But if you want to message them, go ahead.

When your planning to introduce a bill a week you quickly come to the realisation that reminding/pushing people to vote will be necessary to avoid creating a backlog.
