I'd say abortion since I'd rather be a gay man who can't marry than be a woman who was forced to give up my body for 9 months.

To be honest, I don't particularly care much about either issue on its own. But I do care insofar about them insomuch as they part of the larger issue of federalism. Both of these issues should be left entirely to the states. However, the Supreme Court has (in one of the most atrocious rulings ever made) assumed to federalize abortion. Recently, attempts have been made to federalize the issue of marriage as well. These both indicate the growing tendency of the federal government to infringe the sovereignty of the states--and therefore I care about them equally, as part of a broader concern.

Since I'm not a gay man and I'm not a woman, I don't care too much.  If I had to pick I'd say abortion.

Thats how I feel too.  The way I see it...  I will never have an abortion (obviously) and neither will my girlfriend.  For those who decide otherwise, the blood is on their hands, not mine.

You could say the same about the Holocaust. Obviously, Hitler wasn't after normal white Germans, so why should they care. The blood's on his hands.

And you're wrong BTW. The blood's on the hands of Blackmun and his six stooges.

The issue of legalized butchering of unborn children is more important then the question of weddings with two grooms and no bride.

Frankly, I think the latter is weird but should be legal, but the former is horrifying - Roe V. Wade not only mandated "Abortion" but was also shoddy constitutional law. It is, with the possible exception of the Dred Scott decision, perhaps the most disgusting piece of Supreme Court legislation (i dare not call it 'judgement').

Gay marriage, I guess.  I've completely given up arguing about abortion because it just goes absolutely nowhere every single time.  The pro-life people always accuse the other side of supporting the murder of babies and the pro-choice people always accuse the other side of hating women.  It just goes on and on, around and around, completely pointlessly.  I don't think I've ever once seen a guy in an abortion debate seriously consider what someone who disagreed had to say.

Gay marriage

With abortion, I wouldn't that much if Roe v Wade were ruled the other way because the baby is actually being killed.  Although it should be every person's choice, I can better understand a person being pro-life than anti-gay marriage.

Abortion...

Abortion is Murder. The Law should persecute Baby-Killers.
Gay Marriage is also immoral nonetheless, and should be kept illegal due to possible tax benefit frauds.

I'd say abortion since I'd rather be a gay man who can't marry than be a woman who was forced to give up my body for 9 months.

Nine months of inconvenience outweighs a lifetime of not being granted marriage rights that straight couples easily receive?  I honestly can't understand that view, sorry.

Looking at it from a humanitarian perspective, both are important, but the life/death aspect of abortion puts it over the top.

I agree that the oppression is worse in the case of a ban on abortion, but I voted 'both' simply because they both represent the same type of theocracy I fear.

Abortion. I don't think I'm in a position to have much of a position on gay marriage and I'm still not sure what to think of it (people in homosexual partnerships should certainly have next of kin status and all that though).

Abortion. Much the more confusing and fascinating subject, with much more food for thought involved and much more possible positions.

It is still forced, Mordac.  Hence the intervention of the State and their jackbooted thugs.
