Nothing about his character or personality would make me believe that he would attend. So, no.

This was my initial thought, but there is probably a lot of attention he could snatch up by being there, too.

I wondered if he might go to just pull some kind of "stunt"--I'm not sure what, but something to embarrass or distract from the new president.

I doubt Trump will even allow the 2020 to happen.

He'll blow up the world in 2019, so that 2020 never happens?

I've talked about this scenario before. Trump has a very powerful tool: Fox News. Convincing tens of millions of Americans that "Antifa," or "hackers," "q-anon," or "illegal voters" threaten the legitimacy and safety of the election would not be difficult at all. The false narrative would need to begin in 2019, and they would have to keep pounding the talking points home. From there, there are a number of shenanigans could be carried out by proxy. Alt-right protesters at polling places. False-flag Antifa. Fake news (or real but massively spun) stories about hacked voting machines.

Getting one or two states to postpone voting (or appoint electors by legislative fiat) would be easy at that point. Which would throw everything into chaos. Lawsuits across the nation. Protests. Violence.

It's a stretch, but considering the strident propaganda we've seen from Fox News, the lengths the alt-right will go to, and the ridiculous myths millions of people are willing to believe, it's within the realm of possibility.

thats just fearmongering dude. its not remotely within the realm of possibility.

Have you watched Fox News lately?

not really, I put on the news after mccain died. regardless though, their not that influencal as to install a DICTATOR in the united states. neither is trump. it's silly to even suggest he'd be able to just stop an election.

You really ought to have a good look at Fox News to see just how far they are departing from reality into this weird alternative propaganda dimension.

We have large numbers of Trump followers out there who believe things that are completely insane. They are totally in Trump's hands through his propaganda channels. He had them convinced that Hillary was going to steal the election in 2016. He has them believing that three million illegal votes are the only reason he lost the popular vote. That Obama had Trump Tower bugged. It's absurd what he can make people believe.

If he wanted to make 30 million Americans believe the vote had to be suspended due to an attempt to steal the election, he could absolutely make that happen. Whether he could convince anyone running the polls to do anything about it is a stretch, but 30 million Americans convinced the election is a fraud would be a formidable force.

Perhaps it's prescience, perhaps it's just that Trump has proven to be really predictable in some respects:

Nothing about his character or personality would make me believe that he would attend. So, no.

This was my initial thought, but there is probably a lot of attention he could snatch up by being there, too.

I wondered if he might go to just pull some kind of "stunt"--I'm not sure what, but something to embarrass or distract from the new president.
