from Chris Murphy's twitter:

A quick McCain story: A few years ago, the whole Senate gathered to hear John tell, in spellbinding detail, his POW story. I remember he described how he developed a system of tapping out letters on the cell walls to talk to nearby POWs, bc they would be beaten if they spoke.

When it was time for questions, Dian[n]e Feinstein asked John if he could still recall, 40 years later, how the system worked. He didn’t say a word. He just started a r[h]ythmic, staccato tapping on the podium. “I just tapped out ‘Yes, Diane, I still can”, he whispered into the mic.

He was a hero, Cadet Bone Spurs, and a bigger, better man than you will ever be, Assface.

Did Chris Murphy really write the "assface" part?

Okay, I figured as much. But Chris Murphy is very safe for re-election, so maybe there was a chance he was acting cocky.

Was anyone else who would have been familiar with the code present at the time? If the storyteller were to randomly bang on a podium for a few seconds and then say "I just tapped out, 'Yes, Diane I still can'", would anyone be able to tell the difference?

What is the heroic part? Getting captured while performing bombing missions? (Is every POW a hero?) Inventing a code to talk to fellow POWs? Remembering the code?

All of this tearjerky nostalgia from red avatars about John McCain would be a lot more meaningful if they didn't trash him so much 10 years ago.

Your statement has zero "meaningful" substance, as you have been doing nothing but trashing McCain from one thread to another.

I also voted for him, which I'm guessing most of these red avatars who are currently singing Kaddish didn't do.

Yeah, and the bashing of McCain from the Trump cultists would be more meaningful if they didn't love him when he was their only hope of stopping the Kenyan Mooselum.

They voted for Aunt Sarah, not McCain.

Did you go back to atlas of that., sure, there are bound to be some jackasses who personally attack other candidates who attacked McCain. Pale in comparison the numbers who slimed Obama, but whatever. You will find many many people who attacked McCain over his hawkish military views, his apparent befuddle mint in the face of the financial crisis, his abysmal pic of Sarah Palin is being a Heartbeat Away from leader of the Free World, and generally being too conservative. However, unlike Trump and most of the right today, the outright personal tax on him we're relatively few. That's all that Trump knows. So, project much?
