As I said elsewhere, RIP to someone who didn't deserve the fawning media coverage he often received but nonetheless had a legacy more complicated than many of his partisan peers.

A real patriot who did more for his country than most. I disagreed with his anti-Trump stance as well as a number of other positions, but he did everything out of conviction and love for his country and I have nothing but respect for that. RIP FF.

Fundamentally he was an honorable, decent, principled, and courageous Man who believed deeply in Public Service, not only in Military Service, but also continuing to serve the United States in the Congressional Branch.

America has lost a dedicated Patriot, who was not a "spectator" who experienced" American History, but was also an "actor" who helped create history in many ways for the better, especially in the Modern Day Reinvention of the "Society of the Spectacle"

RIP John McCain.
He was a true patriot who served this country who ran for the highest elected office twice (2000 [lost to Bush 43 in GOP primary] and 2008 [won the GOP nomination, lost to Obama in the general]).
He made several awful votes during his time in the Senate, but also made a few good ones (such as saving Obamacare last year).
