As likely as it is he won't make it much longer, he's still alive and shouldn't be spoken about as if he's dead.

That being said:
A great man, a war hero, a civil servant, who will be forever remembered and missed by many in our country.

Also, to the folks celebrating his imminent death: your behavior is absolutely disgusting.

You wouldn’t be talking about the poster you routinely says is an FF in “Opinion of Sanchez” threads, would you?

It's possible to still be friends with people and disagree with their behavior in certain scenarios.  He also isn't the only one posting vile commentary on here:

Will pour a drink in honour of a true American hero: the brain tumour.

But I get it, you wanted to cherry pick.

I'm on record as not being a fan of hers, but in fairness, she didn't make any distinctions in her post.

I admire crabcake generally, but called him out for his tasteless post. I don't see any basis to assume she didn't do the same with Sanchez (among others).

Rip FF. In hindsight I'm impressed with how well he did in 2008 considering the political climate, Obama's popularity, Palin, and how he had the worst campaign management in recent history.

It’s a sad day when a mother has to bury her son

His mother is still alive!?

Yes. She was born before the Titanic sunk!

I don’t really care if people dance on his grave. I’m quite certain that some will dance on my grave someday. However, the true tragedy is that a mother will have to bury her son. That is what hits home for me.

I'm no fan of his but that doesn't mean I can't be sympathetic to him and his family.

No, there’s absolutely no reason for someone who despises McCain for very valid reasons to feign sympathy for him.

Then don't post in this thread. It's not hard.

So sad. Regardless of what you think about him politically, the man is a war hero and has dedicated his entire life to this country.

That is one way of saying that he is giving up. Maybe his body is failing and the treatments no longer work or have become too harsh.

I do not believe in miracles with terminal diseases.

That post has literally nothing to do with me, but okay.

So sad that his image has been politicized and subject to such vitriol in recent years. Senator McCain is a hero who embodies the spirit of service that makes America truly great. He will be sorely missed.

Yeah, I apologize. It was out of order. I strongly dislike the senator for both his personal and professional lives but I should have remembered that his family aren't guilty, and they will grieve him.

No.  If he were to die or resign today, then under Arizona law the governor appoints a replacement from the same party and there will be a special election in 2020 for the remainder of McCain's term. The 2018 primary is next Tuesday and for a special senate election to have been held this year for his seat, McCain would have had to leave office more than 150 days before primary day.

https://www.azleg.gov/viewdocument/?docName=https://www.azleg.gov/ars/16/00222.htm

McCain would have had to resign back in March (or earlier) for there to be a special election for his seat this year.

I think there is an American proverb that goes "if you haven't anything nice to say, then say nothing at all".
Some of our posters should follow that advice.
