Massive FF, easily my favorite modern Republican. Huge amount of respect for him even if I disagree with him on many issues

RIP. Support for his presidential campaign was what first mobilized me to be interested in politics all the way back in 2007.

Almost exactly 9 years after it took Ted Kennedy. Does anyone know how long this cancer kills after treatment stops?

Oh man... Sad

I certainly am not his biggest fan, but he has been an important figure in recent American politics, and has served the nation well. I hope he can recover, although it's unlikely.

when you thought Sanchez couldn't get any worse...

What a sad day. His cancer is extremely aggressive, so I guess this is to be expected.

You will be missed.

A great man, a war hero, a civil servant, who will be forever remembered and missed by many in our country.

Will pour a drink in honour of a true American hero: the brain tumour.

Not cool, man. That's beneath you.

Quite amazing he fought this long, considering what he was diagnosed with.

Almost exactly 9 years after it took Ted Kennedy. Does anyone know how long this cancer kills after treatment stops?

It depends on how healthy the individual is otherwise. If the individual has a lot of complications arising from this condition, his or her demise may come sooner; otherwise, it may come later.

I know of some people who survived several months after stopping treatment, as well as some others who survived only days.

At this point, I'd say his chances of surviving to his next major milestone (his 82nd birthday next Wednesday) are a jumpball.

As likely as it is he won't make it much longer, he's still alive and shouldn't be spoken about as if he's dead.

That being said:
A great man, a war hero, a civil servant, who will be forever remembered and missed by many in our country.

Also, to the folks celebrating his imminent death: your behavior is absolutely disgusting.
