This one was really funny ...

Senator Mitch McConnell: “People die every day in this country. I’m not going to let myself get sidetracked by these distractions.”

I'd praise him for his tremendous marksmanship and give him a mighty firm handshake.

That strikes me as an unfunny attempt at sarcasm, or am I missing something?

Keep in mind neither this article or thread wouldn't exist if Trump himself hadn't boasted he could shoot someone and not lose support.

Right, I forgot: Trump is always the problem and everyone must sink to his level. Got it.

So then you do admit that trump has "sunk" to the bottom-of-the-barrel level/status?

You can’t sink if you were always at the bottom to begin with.

Very true. Thank you for clarifying.

Trump IS the problem, and he's the president.  Anything the president says and does guides our political commentary.  Are you new to politics?  I'm not sure why you seem to think Trump threatening bodily harm to protestors or strongly implying that "the 2nd Amendment people" should assassinate his opponent is something we shouldn't be lambasting.  We should continue to do so even after he's out of office if for no other reason than to make that kind of rhetoric not be considered normal.

Seriously, why are we having to explain this out to people?  The US is seriously screwed.

Another option is “what about when Clinton had her aides assasinated?”
