The wording of the question was: Would you support or oppose the following? A policy of Medicare for all? (When it comes to the U.S Healthcare system)

70% of Americans, although it is just one poll, is the highest level of support for a Medicare for all System in US History.

84% of Democrats approve of it.

And is the stat that may make some people question the poll: 51% of Republicans want Medicare for All, the first Republican majority for the policy in American History.

This is a poll that just came out about an hour ago.

It's towards the end of this Reuters article: https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-election-progressives/

Polling also found Americans support free college tuition 60-28, but they oppose abolishing ICE 32-53 (a very small plurality of Democrats support abolishing ICE).

I'd be willing to compromise to a significant reform and weakening of ICE in exchange for free college tuition and medicare for all.

Chances are they aren’t thinking about the cost when they’re answering these polls

Uh, no, they probably are. That's almost certainly what makes them hate the system as is.

No American ever thinks about that or how it would be implemented. Same goes for the border wall.

Anything short of Medicare-for-all is a failure of social justice for the American people. The existing healthcare industry is an abysmal disaster, an injustice, a bureaucratic nightmare, and the opposite of a health-oriented healthcare system. And what is morally right about profiting from the health needs of others? It's abhorrent.

Nobody cares anymore. The US is never paying off the national debt.

If they knew about the cost they'd know it'd be cheaper than what we do now.

I would love to see the Democrats campaign on this, and if they win Congress, pass it, and Trump pulls a "Bill Clinton 1996" and signs it.

51% of the GOP? Socialist infiltration of the GOP! #SocialistGOP

So, if Dems take both Houses, pass Medicare for all, what are the chances TRUMP signs such a bill? It sounds weird, but the dude has no core and I could see him signing it and arguing that he made healthcare great again.

Let us have words then. I'm sure the majority wouldn't have an issue with my statements.

They very much would have words with someone suggesting they are morally abhorrent for profiting from their work.

Signing the Democrats' signature policy agenda into law to...trigger the libs?

Except that obviously not who he was referring to and you are being knowingly obtuse.

so, you are suggesting he is saying nobody should be able to profit from anything medically related, except for the people that actually care for patients?  Or is even that too much?  Who do you think he was talking about?

Chances are they aren’t thinking about the cost when they’re answering these polls

There are numerous countries who provide medical insurance to almost 100% of the population and who also run decent surpluses in their health care systems (see Austria, or Germany).

The magic word here is competence.

But it means less money for Senator Manchin's daughter and Gretchen Whitmer's father, so they no like.

Probably not, but regardless he was obviously not talking about "nurses and doctors". Nice try at moving the goalpost.

Also, there isn't a State law I know about that says you can't use capital letters in any form. I mean c'mon it isn't that hard to tap the Shift key for less then a second for once.

I didn't think I was moving the goal posts, but perhaps you're right.  He should chose better words next time he wants to make whatever point he was trying to make there.  If someone says, "people shouldn't make money off of the health needs of others" I'm going to assume they mean what they say.  And it IS going to become a huge problem if/when you guys get your wish.....there won't be enough medical professionals to handle the people wanting care.  Millions of people will still be going without needed health care.  Will it be better?  Of course, for some, and worse for others.  If you think you know it will be better for more than it will be worse for, well, you probably don't know what you're talking about.  Did you think health insurance premiums were going to go up 3 or 4 times what they were before the ACA passed?  If you did, why didn't you warn us?
