with DeVos as the nominee, yes she is a lock. Although it is possible it could get close but DeVos won't get within 5%

my take on the election

the economy will most likely be the big issue, I don't see it getting better soon with the Auto companies and manufacturing companies in trouble.  Michigan is too dependent on manufacturing.  If you didn't hear Delphi (second largest auto supplier)  filed bankruptcy last week it's been on the front page of the paper for the last 4 days.  Which affects GM since it was a spinoff of GM.  Looks like there's going to be a big showdown with the UAW.  Now that we have an Idea of the current economic problems, DeVos is a rich corporate executive who sent jobs to china (he really didn't sent any to china they were all newly created jobs but i don't think it matters).  If the democrats do it right just paint DeVos as the evil man that will send your job to china.  Of course the stupid republicans will try to run on social issues which won't work.

The GOP's best chance is probably Illinois but even that's a longshot.

I'm guessing they take Iowa and Virginia. We take New York for sure and at least 2 others.

Illinois definitely.

There are other slight possibilities like Oklahoma (partisan reasons) and Wisconsin.

Even though the economy is so bad around here, people arent so quick to link Granholm to the economy issue and some people think she has done a decent job with the hand that she was delt from former governor engler.
