Indo-Caribbean American voters, especially those from Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, live in the Richmond Hill/Ozone Park area of Queens, New York City. They are family values immigrants and are very business oriented. They used to be a Republican voting block, electing Rudy Giuliani, Al D'Amato, and George Pataki in NY, Christie Whitman, Chris Christie in NJ, Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist and Rick Scott in FL, Richard Burr, Elizabeth Dole, Pat McCrory in NC.

I don't deny this, but it needs to be weighed less heavily against the positive anti-racism of the Democrats. Nominating Obama (among others) really moved the needle on this. If you are a minority, it is much easier to find representation among Democrats than Republicans.
