It's fairly obvious.  Whenever there's a school shooting, or any other type of shooting, leftists start preaching about gun control.  Which, by the way, I don't blame them.  There's no honor in politics.  But here they are bashing rightists for doing THE EXACT SAME THING.  Hypocrites.

That is because the number of homicides is dominated by guns: 11,004 out of 15,070 murders in the USA in 2016. Of course the number of homicides is not dominated by illegal aliens, and most studies do not find a connection between being an "illegal alien" and higher homicide rates or even find a negative correlation.

There is indeed a negative correlation. Illegal immigrants don't cross the border to murder people. Once over, they are not looking to cause further violent crime that would get them deported or tossed in jail. This is why they have a lower rate of crime than US citizens.

It comes down to the proposed solutions.  What is more disruptive?  Breaking up communities and families, putting people in cages, detaining them for long periods of time in bad conditions?

Or greater oversight and regulation of the ownership, transfer, and availability of certain types of guns?

One is about seriously and traumatically disrupting the lives of people who are innocent and trying to make a living and a life.  The other is about taking away your ability to shoot big guns and targets in order to prevent mass shootings.

I've been following this case day by day. I was worried it could become a cold case and we'd never know what happened to Mollie. Honestly, it barely crossed my mind that an alien might have killed Mollie. My reaction to hearing that today was kind of, "Yeah, I should have f***ing known.

Actually it is. The gender imbalance in who commits violent crimes is far larger than any racial, ethnic, religious, etc., imbalance that exists.

If the buffoons who want to judge all immigrants based on the actions of this 1 immigrant consider that it would be a much stronger argument (although still not a good one) to blame all males for the actions of this 1 male, maybe just maybe they'll see the folly of their arguments, since all said buffoons on this thread are males and it might hit closer to home for them.
