I've been following this case day by day. I was worried it could become a cold case and we'd never know what happened to Mollie. Honestly, it barely crossed my mind that an alien might have killed Mollie. My reaction to hearing that today was kind of, "Yeah, I should have f***ing known."

To my fellow blue avatars, don't be dismayed by the absurdity of the left. Remember, we care about the life of people like Mollie Tibbetts. They care about plastic straws. Don't ever feel like we're on the wrong side.

Anyway, I just want to reiterate what a terrible ending this was.  While people are always prepared for the worst when a young girl is missing, there was some legitimate hope here from the people of Eastern Iowa.  Posters were everywhere (even over here in Iowa City), and people wanted to believe so badly that this would be closer to an Elizabeth Smart case (obviously with a much, much, MUCH shorter timeline and hopefully speedy rescue, that goes without saying) than how so many of these searches end.  Everyone at work today was talking about it.  Prayers for the family.

It's fairly obvious.  Whenever there's a school shooting, or any other type of shooting, leftists start preaching about gun control.  Which, by the way, I don't blame them.  There's no honor in politics.  You would be a fool to not use a situation for political advantage, and you deserve to lose if you don't.  But here they are bashing rightists for doing THE EXACT SAME THING.  Hypocrites.

That is because the number of homicides is dominated by guns: 11,004 out of 15,070 murders in the USA in 2016. Of course the number of homicides is not dominated by illegal aliens, and most studies do not find a connection between being an "illegal alien" and higher homicide rates or even find a negative correlation.
