ICE could do with substantial reform, to say the least, but this is exactly the kind of thing they should be doing. Excellent news.

Oh look, another tasteless post by an American left-wing internet millennial. There is no equivalency between an actual Waffen-SS concentration camp guard and ICE. What is hell wrong with you?
No there isn't. But pro ICE seem to be milking this, which quite frankly, is both calculated and in very poor taste.
I also agree with that.

Good point. Because I N S alone could never have deported Nazis even though they did many many times in the past.

Still, you're implied point that this somehow remotely counterbalances throwing children barely out of diapers into cages is compelling indeed.

This is good. Now what about all of the Nazis that are citizens or won Republican nominations?

Not quite. According to the Justice Department, almost 70 other Nazi suspects were either deported or agreed to leave the US voluntarily.

The problem is that these people are stateless once their US citizenship is revoked, and their native countries in Europe don't want to take them unless (1) it is proven that they are citizens of those countries, or (2) the country has enough evidence to criminally prosecute them. Otherwise, it would bring about negative publicity on these countries.

The delicacy of his age? Nazis showed no mercy to people in their 90s if they were Jews.
Person after person, post after post... We have neither the morality nor the mentality of the Nazis, and to do unto people what they have done unto others is not a good legal code - nor is it ours.

And this is why ICE will never be abolished people will see stuff like, 'ICE deports rapist, murderer, etc.' and people would wonder why we'd get rid of such an agency. You will never win the PR battle on this.

So wait, the guy had been ordered deported 14 years ago, and ICE just now decided to move its ass and actually deport it, after prioritizing hundreds of thousands of people obviously less guilty than this guy?

Yup, Republicans, this is truly a great argument in ICE's favor. Roll Eyes

Good. Regardless if he was a true believer, a convert, or reluctantly signed on or whatever he is not innocent and deserves to be brought to justice.

@Kingpoleon: I honestly have no coherent response atm, but I strongly disagree with this. Nazi scum who helped kill innocent people and helped commit genocide have no right to dignity and no right to calm living.

I am opposed to vigilantism in 2018 against Nazis, but I do 10000% support bringing scumbags who killed innocent people (Jews and non-Jews) to justice. That includes the death penalty for the most heinous offenders.

I understand that most people here oppose the DP and that's fine, but to oppose bringing these scum to legal justice at all is stunningly tone deaf imo.

Also, to anyone making this into a political football:

1. Republicans using this to try and prop up ICE
2. Democrats making "clever" shots at neo-nazi candidates in America.

PLEASE STOP. A genocide is not your political football and it is not a tool to make a political point.

The reason he wasn't deported earlier was because no country wanted to accept him until now. If a deportee is not accepted by any other country, the deportee will remain here until such time some country changes its mind and agrees to accept the deportee.
