I suppose the voters get what they choose.  They deserve better, however; they deserve someone who is going to be an effective advocate for them and for their interests, and not someone who starts out by being an obvious HP even to JOHN CONYERS!!! and going from there by making self-serving statements, alienating people even further, and enriching your girlfriend on your payroll.

I can't see where Alcee Hastings' advocacy has ever advance a substantive proposal in 25 years in Congress, even one I would disagree with.
