In Texas, there was a state legislator named Suzanna Gratia Hupp who was a mass shooting survivor. In her case, she was convinced that if she had been allowed to have a gun with her, she would have been able to stop it from happening, so she spent years in Republican politics opposing any and all firearm restrictions.

If she was allowed to do that without your criticism, why shouldn't he?

This kind of language speaks volumes as to why there is so much polarization and friction in this country today. Both sides now seem to carry only about what "triggers" or "upsets" the other side, without any regard to the consequences.

Not even close. I disagree with Emma Gonzales on a lot, but she's been a strong advocate for gun reform. Her one major false note was her bizarre support for that stupid marketing stunt on Wall Street.

It's not like opportunism is uncommon among teens who get involved in politics, but if you put that aside, what these guys have accomplished is pretty remarkable. Don't overlook the forest of newly registered voters and reformed gun laws for a few hormonal trees

I'm willing to accept the idea that he epitomizes how young people communicate, and that rubs some older people the wrong way. (But as someone since pointed out, he's not actually a Millennial—some Millennials are approaching 40).
