Dotard, I felt the same way in 2014 when my party defeated many good, centrist democrats like Mark Begich and Mary Landrieu. In both cases they were replaced by better Senators (to me) but I do miss having Dems like Begich and Landrieu who counterbalance crazies like Sanders, Harris and Murphy

Y’all do understand that the reason the House GOP caucus is so crazy is bc most of the people can’t lose a general, right? They only fear losing a primary so they rush to be crazy. Most of the freedom caucus probably won’t even exist in four years but until then they’re going to be a bigger part of the R caucus until the maps get redrawn. I’d rather have a caucus full of Will Hurds than of Mark Meadows. There’s only 23 Republican women in the House. They, by and large , represent more moderate districts bc they’re perceived as being more liberal in a primary and can only get through primaries in more moderate districts. Them losing is representative of the more moderate people losing and the crazy people becoming a bigger percentage of the caucus for the time being, that’s all I’m saying. I’m not saying the Republican women are angels and I’d love for every single last Republican to lose but that’s not going to happen.

1.The Republicans have also nominated 23 women in Democratic districts out of over 130 nominees.  Of course, this is an improvement on the percentage of Republican women in the U.S House vs the total number of Republicans.

In the Republican open districts, they've nominated 7 women (including Katie Arrington) in the 37 primaries held so far in these districts.
