Nathan Deal and the conservative Gwinnett County Sheriff endorses it as well. I meant to canvass for this but never had the time. I hope it passes!

A few days ago, I inexplicably began receiving emails/newsletters from Teresa Tomlinson (I'm a county party chair, so getting unsolicited political emails isn't necessarily new or surprising). I just opened my inbox this morning and in it was this.

She's running next year, and it looks like she's not concerned about what Abrams is planning to do (either that, or Abrams has already dropped from Senate and told Tomlinson privately):

Abrams is the best candidate, Teresa Tomlinson would make it competitive but loses by 213, and not force a runoff. Schumer should really beg Abrams, especially with his recruitment failure in CO (fortunately a Lean D state), and to some extent NC (Stein declined, and Jackson seems to have no interest)

Ehhh I think it’ll go to a runoff no matter what. Tomlinson and Abrams are both good candidates and whoever doesn’t run in 2020 will likely run in 2022. I also think that’s when Jackson runs in NC too. He’s got a baby and doesn’t want to jump in at this current moment. I think Stein wants to run for Governor eventually

If milquetoast John Barrow can get to 48 percent in a runoff, Tomlinson can pull Perdue into a runoff on Presidential Election Night.

I like her and will be all for her if Abrams turns it down.

The legislature passed a bill updating Georgia's voting machines and laws.  Among other things, it increases the time voters must be inactive before they can be purged from the rolls.  The bill is awaiting Gov. Kemp's signature.

Gwinnett County MARTA referendum:

No 4,193 58%
Yes 2,981 42%

I believe this is just some of the early vote, which totaled about 32K.

Anybody else put off by Abram's saying she really won the Gov race? I get not conceding but just declaring flippantly that you won the race is very Trumpian to me.

It's going to fail because of old people who not only will be dead by the time it is completed but never would have needed to use it anyway. I'm so over it. This should have been on the ballot in November in the first place.

This needs to be on the ballot in 2020.

I don't know why they always do the votes of the middle of some random month. I don't think MARTA wants to expand itself either.

And Gwinnett will continue to have some of the worst traffic in the country. Glad I don't live closeby anymore.

That's some of it, but there are lots of middle/upper class minority NIMBYs in Gwinnett too, this isn't all because of racism.

Glad to see the folks in Gwinnett vote this down.  It was a multi-billion dollar tax hike and, for what? a single heavy-rail line station 4 miles from the DeKalb County line Roll Eyes

1. Us neoliberals love public transit.
2. I don't think a county's true affiliations are determined by a March election intended to minimize turnout.

You’re talking to a guy who thinks Elliott County is more likely to go Dem in 2020 than Tarrant
1. It was a joke
2. I do NOT believe that.
