Why would Brownback be trailing by so much in such a deep red state like Kansas?
I assume because the voters remember the disaster that was his gubernatorial tenure?

Why ia Brownback trailing so badly in a red state like Kansas?

The timeline writer vastly underestimates the effect of state partisan leanings on downballot races, while vastly overestimating the effect of "candidate quality".

That's right, even though I guess Ben Sasse will easily win senate re-election.

Yes, really, I forgot about the Senate race in Nebraska. But I do not think I need to do this (it's clear that Btn Sasse easily wins the reelection even more without rivals, and TL is coming to an end)

Same reason a governor would run for Senate immediately after being elected.

Same reason a governor would run for Senate immediately after being elected.

Like Ronald Reagan in '68 when he ran for President immediately after being elected Governor in '66.

Why would Labrador run a third-party candidacy in Idaho?
He lose primary to Little and with endorsement of Tea Party and ultra-right Republicans he run for Senate
