A patsy.

I don't think he (or his campaign) actively sought out help from Russia, but they were accepting when they got it, and they're completely in bed with them now.

I can buy the idea that he didn't plan for any of this to happen. I don't think he got up one day and thought "Gee! I want to become president by conspiring against the sovereignty of our country with a hostile power!" I do think that once the Russians approached him, possibly with compromat, he basically ratified all of their plans with the understanding that he could both avoid being exposed for whatever the Russians had on him and have his "Only Nixon Could Go To China" moment. He probably thought he would never get caught or that somehow he could get away with it.
