It's doubtful Schilling gets in the Hall of Fame this year but not because of Trump's tweet, which will have no effect this year and little effect in the next three years. Schilling's problem is that there are several pitchers on the ballot for the first time this year that are at least as good as Schilling and at least one who is definitely better.

Edgar Martínez is the only one from last year's ballot that I think likely to get a spot. He was close last year and this is his final year of eligibility on the regular ballot.

President Trump has had a video removed from Twitter because it unlawfully used the music from a Batman film.

The two-minute promotional video for his 2020 campaign used Hans Zimmer's track Why Do We Fall? from The Dark Knight Rises without requesting copyright from Warner Bros Pictures.

It was removed on Tuesday evening, hours after the video was posted on Mr Trump's account.

Clearly he doesn't understand the full history of the "Do Nothing" meme from 1948. Dewey sought to co-opt some of Truman's more popular talking points by adopting them himself. Truman then challenged the Republicans, who controlled both houses of Congress, to go ahead and pass the legislation now since both he and Dewey supported it. They didn't, thus making clear what the Republican position on those issues really was.

Which holes "had meeting" I wonder? Or is this a confession that Mr. Trump is too degenerated to play golf and his trips to his golf courses (almost a quarter of the time he has pretended to be "President") are only for grifting and pretense?

If you take a look at the next post from the public pool, you see that his motorcade stayed there less than an hour, so whatever happened wasn't even a round on the nine-hole course.

It's possible that the preparations for celebrating New Year's at Mar-a-Lago required him to have a meeting elsewhere, but if so, that shows how ineptly this particular trip has been planned and/or how inadequate Mar-a-Lago is as a "Winter White House".

Fun fact: when Marjorie Post died, she left Mar-a-Lago to the National Park Service for use as a possible Winter White House. After several years it was returned to the Post Foundation via an Act of Congress after it was determined that the place was unsuitable for that purpose because of the cost of maintaining it as well as the difficulty of securing it.

Trump apparently realized his mistake, as he deleted the tweet a few minutes later.

The replacement tweet doesn't imply the Chiefs were battling for American honor against the foreign nation of California, either.

Trump must not be aware of, or doesn't believe in, the alleged ability of the Super Bowl to predict the stock market he's counting on to save him at the ballot box this November. As an old AFL team, the Chiefs winning is supposed to mean the stock market will go down this year.

I hate Mike Pence, but I would respect the hell out of him leading an effort to use the 25th Amendment to replace Trump next week if Trump tried to cancel the lockdowns.

Even if Pence had the desire to invoke the 25th, he'd need half the Cabinet to join him. That's not gonna happen.
