Hmm, maybe that's because President Obama isn't a political hack & actually let the people decide who they wanted instead of shamelessly throwing out copypasta endorsements on Twitter.

He is so, so jealous of President Obama.

As un-American as it gets.

Posted this here, because, as always, there's  tweet:

Senate passes veto-proof bill that will strip Confederate names from military bases

"From which we won two world wars" is kind of an inane argument. The bases would still be there even after renaming them. Hey, if Trump is so much into the history of the world wars maybe we could even name them after military officers from that period?? How about that, hm? For instance, Dwight D. Eisenhower, George C. Marshall, and Omar Bradley had all served at Fort Benning - currently named after a Confederate general - during their militay careers.

Wasn't he literally just crying about baseball players kneeling & how the season is over for him? So renaming military bases so they're not associated with traitors is cancel culture, but boycotting sports for players kneeling isn't?

Or perhaps cancel culture is perfectly fine for him so long as it fits into the narrative of his nonsensical rants.

One has to wonder, with the current level of projection being observed by the highest levels of the GOP leadership, whether this is an open admission that the RNC was compromised by the Russians in 2016.

Can we just get the election and transition over with so this gaslighting, abusive moron can face justice? I'm so very tired of this. (Which is part of the point, I'm sure. Not going to let it stop me from voting or donating, but it sure does get exhausting.)

Still fighting a lost battle from 4 years ago, against a foe for whom he's comically ill-equipped.

Holy gaslighting, Batman! The travel ban was an executive order, not a bipartisan bill.

And yes: from now through to the election, everything from Trump will be fear-mongering.

It's fascinating how he hones in on every little gaffe made by Biden. Like, dude, have you heard yourself talk?

The Presidency of Donald Trump was originally meant as a satire on American politics, but like many shows that just ran too long it eventutally jumped the shark.

Because he's done such a great job so far!

Trump would get booed off the field so bad. Dictators like Mussolini hate being laughed at more than anything. I hope the fans laugh at him instead.

Wikipedia - Definitions of Fascism

The big winner here is obviously Umberto Eco's 8th property of Ur-Fascism,
Quote
Fascist societies rhetorically cast their enemies as "at the same time too strong and too weak." On the one hand, fascists play up the power of certain disfavored elites to encourage in their followers a sense of grievance and humiliation. On the other hand, fascist leaders point to the decadence of those elites as proof of their ultimate feebleness in the face of an overwhelming popular will.

It's hard to get more simultaneously strong and weak than "can be easily controlled" on the one hand, and "untold suffering that would destroy America" on the other. That said, there's some stiff competition from Roger Griffin's, "Fascism is a political ideology whose mythic core in its various permutations is a palingenetic form of populist ultra-nationalism" where one could scarcely ask for a better example of palingenesis (the idea of a phoenix-like national rebirth) than,

Quote
the Golden Age - better than ever before!

There's more of course - Donald Trump's Republican Party has become a case study of emergent fascism - but those were the real standouts for me. (Anyone else remember a couple years ago when non-Republicans would seriously object to labeling Republicans as fascist? Those were the good old days.)

Republicans just want to keep the blacks away from white flight suburbs. That is going to hurt the MAGA Methheads in Appalachia as well.
