Bayh would win his Senate race if he were running in 2018.

So would 4 or 5 other folks, not surprising.

Maybe. Problem is, Tennessee is far more hostile ground for Democrats than Indiana is.

The poll also says that a majority of voters oppose Same Sex Marriage. Color me skeptical.

What's hard to believe about 53% of people in a conservative state opposing same-sex marriage? Or have you bought into the media narrative that there's now total consensus in the country on this issue?
Well, its because, in the most recent surveys on the issue, around 2/3s are supportive of SSM, with only 30% against it. It just seems unlikely to me that TN, a rather moderate GOP state with a sizable Indie and Dem population, would be majority against it.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/234866/two-three-americans-support-sex-marriage.aspx

This poll had support for gay marriage at just 29% in late 2015.  This is the most evangelical state in the United States- is it really that surprising that a majority still believe in the Biblical definition of marriage?

Yeah, that's not surprising. TN, OK, AR, LA, MS, AL, and maybe SC likely have majorities opposing SSM still.

Well, I've actually been writing it since the day he entered the race. Hopefully it ends up being really articulate. Smiley

If Bredesen can’t win an open seat in 2018 of all years, he was never that strong a candidate to begin with. Like I said, I still think this is a Toss-up though.

Actually, several months ago a massive fifty state survey was conducted on the issue of same-sex marriage, and it was found that MS and AL are the only states not to favor SSM (MS has a plurality not in favor, AL has a majority not in favor).

I don’t think a majority of Tennesseans believe in polygamy in the style of Jacob.

What a laugh. I don't trust Gravis, but shades of Evan Bayh and T-Paw are strong here.

I wonder what the South thought of slavery in 1870, or Segregation in 1970.

I could see this being the result in November, but I am not ready to write-off Bredesen.

States can split their votes for governorship and senate, and as far as TN is concerned, Bredesen can win as well as Bill Lee can. The state is in play.

I was feeling quite confident about Bredesen's chances earlier. Now, however, I'm not so sure. Had the election been held in May or June, he probably would have won. But I think it's all downhill from here for him, once Trump goes down to campaign for Blackburn again.

Oversample too many GOPers in the Gubernatorial poll, obviously Bill Lee will win, but TN Senate remains a tossup.

I mean, I don't think Democrats should panic. There are going to be polls showing Bredesen ahead, and polls showing him behind. It will remain a tossup race all the way up until the polls close on Election Day.
