Recess should be universal, but hang on.

20 minutes?

I’m more used to a 10-15 minute Brunch/Recess and then a half hour for lunch. 20 seems a little long.
In Australia it was 20 minutes for recess and 40 minutes for lunch. Crazy to see that recess isn't even mandatory in the States.

I figured it always was.

We had a morning recess and an afternoon recess even up to like 8th grade. I think it was longer in the lower grades but that may just be how everything seems to last longer when you are a little kid. I think it was around 15 minutes for each recess and not sure about lunch, probbably 30~40. And thats with a PE class.

I think its important. The exercise and playing helps you focus and study more effeciently as well as just keeping you in better health. Now if they ever learn to get a good lunch program...

Growing up with recess at elementary school it kind of baffles me that it isn't universal. Good bill.
