FL.  It really shouldn't be needed, but we forget that kids need breaks in the school day to be able to stay focused when they are in class.

Freedom law. Schools should encourage more than just academics.

Having things like recess and the arts actually helps out with the academics.

If nothing else they should make the lunch period longer--most days where I went half the people would either have to miss lunch or be late to class because the allotted ten minutes would expire by the time you got to the front of the line.

Excellent!

Though as a bullied kid for whom recess sucked, I intentionally didn't do homework so that I had to stay in during recess to do it. So I'm a fan of kids having options. But I definitely approve of this law as most schools hardly have any recess time at all.

I have found that high-school students need some relaxed time for socialization. They find ways to get it.

Growing up with recess at elementary school it kind of baffles me that it isn't universal. Good bill.

My thoughts exactly, though I see the arts as being academic as well.

This. It's kind of weird to think about. Huge Freedom Law, coming from a kid who didn't really like recess.

Recess should be universal, but hang on.

20 minutes?

I’m more used to a 10-15 minute Brunch/Recess and then a half hour for lunch. 20 seems a little long.

I'm fairly certain Naso wouldn't be impacted any more.

That 20 minutes usually includes walking to and from, as well as lining up at the end of recess.

Lunch has always been 15-20 minutes in the schools I've worked in. It SHOULD be 30, since it takes so long for those who get in line.
