It's gonna be great when Doug Jones is running for reelection in 2020 against Robert Bentley, with Roy Moore rage-campaigning as an independent candidate.

Jones has very low odds of re-election at this point but if he faces someone as damaged as Bentley, his re-election chances skyrocket.

If he wanted to, he could have prevented Democrats from taking a Senate Seat in the state. He took a course of action that pushed fate closer to Democrats winning the Senate special election instead of stopping fate from going down that path.

If he ran he would get no more than 10% in the primary, and that’s being generous. He is a Rockefeller Republican by ALGOP standards.
Any attempt to revive his disgraced political career will fail spectacularly, and it would be amusing to watch.

Do they want to keep Jones in the Senate!? Republicans have no shame. In this instance though it is to our benefit. Even with saying that though, if Jones manages to win in this hypothetical scenario, it will still be another squeaker.
