Yes. She'll lose by 8 points, but she will be a future of the VA GOP.

She'll probably be VA governor in 2021 or 2025.

Yes, and for the same reason. I have complained before about Republican incumbents in vulnerable districts retiring like cowards instead of putting up a fight.

I do recognize the morality of not wanting to ask people for money and support for an effort you have every reason to suspect will be futile.  I do believe that if I were gerrymandered into a hostile district, I'd be thinking of my family and whether or not I want to dip into my savings to fund a loser.  I would have a tough time asking a contributor to give money knowing I'll lose.

But I do think that folks facing reapportionment should stand and fight; there's no shame in losing.  I'd think MORE of someone who went forward and lost in a future race; it would be an indication of a willingness to persevere where the chips are down.

She isn't the worst of all the potentially doomed representatives, but she is still returning the well of tone deaf division based fear-mongering and paranoia to defend her seat. So I am actually going to say that I don't have more respect for her. If anything it's about the same amount as for Issa and the other cowards.
