But remember, we don't have money for things that would actually help people.

Yes, the Dems voted for a big military spending bill. That is the status quo of the established power structures in our country. I am far from happy about that, but I refuse to allow my general displeasure with our system as it is to be used as a lever by the malicious collection of crooks and cultists known as "the Republican Party" for purposes of keeping themselves in power.

(And yes, that is how I'm treating anything with even a hint of "both sides do it" until 2019, and probably longer. )

It's never the right time to hold the Democrats accountable for anything.

Good for them. National security should not be a partisan issue.

This is way too much, and most of it wont go to expanding the military or getting bettter services for veterans or an increase in soldier pay.

It will go to building five fancy new planes, cause the US needs five fancy new planes.

Agreed. There should be bipartisan opposition to a bloated military and defense budget. It’s an issue on which fiscal conservatives and progressives can agree. Too bad our legislative bodies have so few of those...

To hell with all those homeless vets on the street corners, the US military needs new planes!

Military spending (and federal spending overall) is getting out of hand.
And to make matters worse, we decrease revenues by giving-out tax favors to the upper classes and rich corporations.
Absolutely incredible!

And then they ask, "How are we going to pay for healthcare and education?"

I'm a party hack. But for me, these types of votes are the ones that consistently frustrate me the most about my party.
