Disgusting.
I wonder how many democrats think the same about Fox News.

LOL at this lame attempt of "whataboutism".

Fox News is state-run propaganda, it is not news.

I'm not sure if it is "whataboutism". Democratic antipathy towards Fox News is as great (if not greater than) as Republican antipathy towards "liberal" media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, and the Big Three networks. And your last comment is representative of this. Fox News isn't all state-run propaganda. There are good journalists there (i.e. Chris Wallace, Bret Baier), and they shouldn't be lumped in with people like Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, who are pundits, not journalists. There are also good journalists at CNN (Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper) and at the other networks (particularly the journalists who work on 60 Minutes).

And over 50% of Democrats think the govt should have the authority to run your healthcare so what’s your point?

More accessible healthcare is nothing like shutting down privately owned media outlets.

Ask the same question when a Dem is in office and watch how quickly they change their tune.

That's pretty much the state of things these days: "Poll: (Absurdly high)% of Republicans think (thing which is unfathomably horrible or idiotic)"

Soon 100% of Dem officials will think the internet needs to be censored for the sake of preventing the spread of non-PC opinions Smiley.

Nah, they'll just dox everyone and get us all fired for violating corporate tolerance policies. Censorship is so last decade. Meet the new HR.

I mean, Youtube is a private company so I don't care. If someone spouts vicious bullsh**t like Alex Jones in my backyard I'd probably also be inclined to physically remove that person tbh.

We shouldn't forget that Alex Jones isn't an innocent Trumpist, he's far worse than your average talk radio Trumpist. Nobody is denying him his first amendment rights, he still can say what he wants, but Youtube has the right not to associate with him. Most alt-righters are f**ing snowflakes who want to nationalize the internet because everyone has to hear their their incel takes.

Censoring the internet =/= private businesses deleting fascist crap videos because they don't want to facilitate fascist crap video makers who make millions of it. Don't worry though, give it a few years and the Dems will enthusiastically go for Orwellian government-mandated ''fake news filters'' Smiley.

Do you have any reasoning to explain this and aren't just pulling that out of your ass?

Any such laws would also be blatantly in violation of the First Amendment. The Supreme Court would strike them down 9-0 no matter who sits on it.

Half the Democrats Believe in the Government banning "Hate Speech" :  https://today.yougov.com/topics/politics/articles-reports/2015/05/20/hate-speech

So half of Democrats basically support the Government violating people freedom of speech rights.

At the end of the day you can find any poll to make either parties supporters look bad

Hate to break it to you but the SCOTUS has found multiple times that some forms of speech aren't protected by the constitution.

Yeah. You.

"Hate speech" has never been determined to be one of the historical exclusions to freedom of speech. The closest was  Beauharnais but that was still a libel case. The polls showing Democrats wanting to unconstitutionally censor protected speech are just as alarming as the polls showing Republicans wanting to unconstitutionally censor protected speech. Yeah, I know, "muh no both sidez arguments ... only icky GOP can be criticized because GOP IS HITLER derp!"

No category of speech has been excluded from constitutional protections.
Until they did.

You are really betraying your ignorance of American law.

Libel was a categorical exclusion well before the Constitution was even written. See for instance the John Peter Zenger case. Ditto for incitement, obscenity, fighting words, and perjury. Categorical exclusions are based on pre-constitution English common law. The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that it cannot create new exceptions.

Besides, this whole argument started when you dickishly snidely remarked that censoring "hate speech" wasn't protected by the Constitution. Regardless of whether or not future justices obliterate the 1st Amendment, at the present time "hate speech" is protected by the Constitution. Therefore OSR's original statement holds; some polls do reveal that half of Democratic respondents "support the Government violating peoples' freedom of speech rights."

No they wouldn't. Consistency is alien to them. It's one standard for them, and another for everyone who disagrees with them.
