POLITCAL PARTIES: With factions having evolved after three years of government and intense politics, players are now allowed to form their own formal political parties, which are meant to be far more organized groups than a loose association of like-minded men. As a result, these better organized political parties come with added mechanisms such as formal party platforms, your own mechanisms to choose a leader - as long as they're not too anachronistic -, more emphasis on symbols, colors and so on. Players can choose to continue with a faction and not a party if they intend to stand only in a couple of states (with an added local bonus), but it is recommended you make the jump for extra benefits such as better impact on the press.
