1960: Farrell Dobbs [Socialist Workers] - idealistic pro-Cuban vote so soon after the Revolution
1964: Lyndon B. Johnson [Democratic] - reluctant choice swayed by "Great Society" program alluded to on campaign trail
1968: Eugene McCarthy [Write-in] - to hell with Humphrey
1972: George McGovern [Democratic] - vote to End The War
1976: Eugene McCarthy [Write-in] - vote for someone I like against the corrupt two party system
1980: Gus Hall [Communist] - really voted for his VP, Angela Davis, not a fan of Hall but I despise the major candidates
1984: Walter Mondale [Democratic] - vote for a nuclear freeze, but mostly a vote against Reagan
1988: Eugene McCarthy [Consumer] - total nostalgia vote, even though old Gene has started to go off the deep end at this point
1992: Ross Perot [Independent] - vote against the two party system, and for Stockdale who I respect
1996: Ralph Nader [Green/] - a vote for the new Green party
2000: Ralph Nader [Green/] - yes, even despite the closeness of the race
2004: Abstain

This is assuming that I'm a clean slate at the beginning of each of these elections and my political views are ever-evolving:

1960: Nixon
1964: Goldwater
1968: Nixon
1972: Nixon
1976: Ford
1980: Reagan
1984: Reagan
1988: Paul
1992: Perot
1996: Perot
2000: Dubya
2004: Kerry (anger over Iraq...it's likely I would NOT be a neocon at this point like I was in 10th grade in 2004)
2008: Barr
2012: Johnson
2016: Johnson

Zero doubt on any of them. I'm firmly to the left of the democratic party, but I am also a pragmatic who would never ever dream of voting for the Green party or support an unelectable progressive in the democratic primaries.

With that voting record you aren't a centrist. But we all know that self-described centrists aren't really centrists anyways.

Supporting center-left Democrats, right-wingers and race-baiters like Reagan and Nixon, and Libertarians like Johnson makes you undecided, but certainly not centrist.
