Great, so we're going to lose Hananbusa and get someone terrible as her replacement. Her ambition continues to get the better of her.

Isn't HI polling in general pretty bad?

On one hand, the Democrats threw out their last incumbent Democrat in the primary. On the other, HI's probably one of the most (if not the most) pro-incumbent states.

there have been some wild swings, after the whole missile scare, Hanabusa had a rather large lead, but now, the polls have shifted and Ige is back up in the 2 most recent ones.

Too bad for Republicans Linda Lingle isn't running (Yes she's eligible to serve a third non-consecutive term)....she might have actually won the general against Ige or Hanabusa.

Also, if Schatz had run, he totally would be leading right now.

Not in this environment, maybe under a Hillary midterm.
Anyways, Hanabusa seriously must have the worst political luck in the world if she loses this one too....

Yeah, Schatz could probably pull it off, but it would be crazy to surrender a Senate seat he could hold for decades in exchange for two (maybe one if the primary challenges become routine?) terms as Governor of a notoriously hard to govern state.

Progressive Hero Senator Schatz would become Ineffective Governor Schatz within the year. If he stays where he is, he’s in with a good crack at a Cabinet post or Senate leadership position over the next couple of decades.

Poor Hana, she had a secure seat, especially after Djon finally left, and shes now going to lose and be replaced by a likely Blue Dog.
