I hope this actually translates into more young people voting.

I'm 19 years old and I'm a politics buff but most of my friends couldn't careless about politics much less voting.

I will be voting in my state's primaries in September and I will be voting in the midterms in November. I will also be voting straight Democratic.

I can agree with that.

I think that we do in fact need more people to vote but at the same time, I would prefer if voters were more informed.

This is my view as well. So many of the politicians who are in office now are there, in part, due to the ignorance of many of their constituents.

Maybe we need both, and maybe 17- and 18-year olds need some kudos (and encouragement) for doing an adult thing and participating in voting rather than leaving the decisions that affect their lives to 60- to 80- year olds.

As a very big policy buff I am a bit angered at how everyone think young people are naive, inexperienced, and stupid. If we stick to just the oldies we’ll get a gerontocracy lead by a Brezhnev.

Isn't Florida actively purging its voter rolls of suspicious voters?

Anyone know what's up with WV being such a massive outlier? Not that it's actually that worrying for Manchin actually, the polls IIRC show Manchin doing better with older than younger voters.

Iowa is also kind of worrying, honestly.

WV, demographically, is something of a gerontocracy

EDIT: Regardless of whether this means anything or not I'm glad to see more young people partaking in a step towards possibly making their voices heard.

In the case of Iowa, I'm worried about it from the start as Trump won 18-29 year-olds by 6 points and close to 50% as well (18-24 year-olds voted for HRC 48-39, but 25-29 year-olds voted for Trump 58-34).

Generation Z is actually moving towards the GOP, so this is wonderful news.
