Duke 21, Northwestern 7 (halftime)
Miss. St 17, Kansas St. 3 (halftime)
Houston 31, Arizona 0 (late 1st half)
South Florida 21, Ga. Tech 17 (haltime)
Oklahoma 7, UCLA 7 (early)

Not in the game but interesting: Wisconsin only up 10-7 over New Mexico at halftime.

Ga. Tech/USF is a terrific game.  USF just scored to go up 42-38 with 5 minutes left.

Got TCU right, but I thought Northwestern would beat Duke...and Houston is flattening Arizona, which is bad for me, and I'm waiting for the Air Force/Florida Atlantic game to kick off, as that's in a lightning delay.

So UNC is currently losing 38-19 to ECU in the 4th quarter. ECU went 3-9 last year and lost their first game this year to an FCS team. This is almost definitely UNC's easiest game on schedule until mid-November. After this week they play UCF, Pitt, Miami, and VA Tech. Everyone should just go ahead and pencil in an 0-6 start for the Tarheels and probably the firing of Larry Fedora.

If they hadn't lost to the FCS team, and hadn't just lost to ECU, I'd say UCF is theoretically doable...but they've lost both those games, so UCF clearly isn't doable they have to face Syracuse (winnable), Virginia (winnable), Georgia Tech (they'll lose that one), Duke (they'll lose that one, and that's probably when Fedora gets fired), Western Carolina (another FCS squad, they should win that) and NC State (they'll probably lose that game). Did I mention the Syracuse game might get cancelled/rescheduled due to what will be Hurricane Florence?

I've been really hurt today by a couple of late comebacks - Colorado over Nebraska and Navy over Memphis.

The NC State state game will be for sure...but the UCF/North Carolina game could reverse campus sites, so that UCF could host.

Thought about doing a blind homer pick for the Illini at Soldier Field (I will actually be up at Wrigley Field during the game this weekend!), but I really can't see a win.  We aren't even sure we'll have the suspended players back, and that was going to be our only hope.  A win would be awesome, though!

Certainly a blessing for UNC and probably for NC ST too.

What a disgrace to our beloved sport.

UCF needs to reschedule Nebraska for their bye week ASAP. Toughen up the schedule.

NC State had better than coin toss odds of winning, and at worst would've lost to a ranked team. Not really a blessing.

Pity, I would have taken that bet.

I picked NC State Tongue  I don't think they had a >50% of winning, but my alumnus uncle put together a fairly convincing homer argument for why they could be pretty decent this year, and I wanted another "upset" in my picks.

West Virginia is generally viewed by the computer ranking systems as the most overrated team in the nation by a wide margin.

Massey #34
Sagarin #22
S&P+ #21
Curry #38
Round Robin W% #47
Massey Composite #25

NC State
Massey #19
Sagarin #26
S&P+ #45
Curry #17
Round Robin W% #19
Massey Composite #24

That's quite a toss-up. I picked State.

Not on the list, but Virginia Tech has also called off their game against East Carolina due to Florence.

Wake Forest's Thursday night game against Boston College has been moved to 5:30 PM on Thursday, and Virginia's home game against Ohio has been moved to Nashville, with Vanderbilt hosting.

How many people is that game going to draw in Nashville? 50?
