Remember when she was gonna lose to Kid Rock?

The idea of that happening was incredibly ridiculous.

But it´s ridiculous to think that Stabenow is safe, since Trump won in 2016, right? lol

Emerson is trash, but a CGB at D+15 would probably flip 4-5 seats.

At least the race would have been interesting. It's boring now.

Stabenow isn't losing, and Baldwin, Brown, Casey, and Smith aren't either. I don't know if I'd move them to 100% safe, but all of them are at least at strong Likely D, bordering on safe.

Would that mean a potential flip of the state legislature as well?

The only consequence of this race is that John James will get a contract with FOX and then write a book about owning the libs with a picture of possibly an eagle but definitely of him doing an edgy cross arm pose on the cover. Said book will be covered by FOX for exactly two weeks and then relegated to the bargain bin at Tractor Supply within a year.

Don't forget he will do speeches for TPUSA where he self-glorifies in being an "intellectual rebel" for being a "forbidden" Black Republican.

Possible. States are not as effective at gerrymandering state legislative districts as they are at gerrymandering Congressional districts (where that happens).

Michigan voters rarely split tickets

Stabenow will win reelection.

James is a black conservative, like Darryl Glenn (CO-SEN 2016), that upsets liberals.

Black liberals will despise him when they find out he is married to a white woman, despite black liberals' hypocrisy of "tolerance and acceptance", a black man marrying a white woman especially when that black man is a conservative a la Clarence Thomas is seen as "deep in the sunken place".

As a black person myself, I have to say that you are correct about this. Many blacks (like many whites), especially older ones, have a negative view about interracial marriages. My own father and uncle, for example, consider it to be a "betrayal to our race", given the history of this country. So that very well could be a factor with black voters in Michigan.

Knock it off. No one cares that he is black save for his white opponent who compared him to Jesse Jackson for no other reason than being black. Some Republicans get upset by blacks and other non-whites joining their party.

Because a black person voting Republican is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders. Not only are you voting against your own economic interest, you’re also voting in favor of social policies that are designed specifically to hurt blacks. You have to be three fries short of a happy meal to actually believe those policies work when you’re the one getting screwed by them.

Putting aside the rest of your post, John James is quite wealthy. He's not voting against his own economic interest.
