What was the favorite 90's movie/series phenomenon, for kids, while they were actually living in the 90's?

As someone born in 1989, I think it was Jurassic Park. All kids my age growing up loved those movies, got the toys, JP lunchboxes.

Next would be Pokemon.

I think the 1990's Animated Spider-Man and Batman TV series deserve honorable mentions.

Those are what first come to mind, anyways.

Harry Potter and the Star Wars Prequels only really became a phenomenon among kids at the very end of the 90's... Episode I released halfway through 1999. The HP books were a phenomenon by 1999/2000, and the first movie didn't come until 2001. Lord of the Rings was all 2000's.

I was in my 20's, so this may be creepy, but I still have good memories of Animaniacs, Boy Meets World, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Born in 1985, some of my favorites:
*Power Rangers
*Figure It Out
*Rugrats
*Duck Tales
*Clarissa Explains It All
*Full House
*Animaniacs
*Care Bears (Shrieky was my favorite character:))

I was a weird kid and loved watching Game Show Network religiously. Most of those shows were older from the 70s and 80s so not sure if that applies. Press Your Luck was my favorite though.

I concur with Jurassic Park. One of those things where it's difficult to comprehend how big it was unless you grew up with it.

Sonic for video games...but alas, like Star Wars, it hit an earthquake point from which the series and fandom never recovered. I did love the shows as well...certainly more than that anime that'd come out in the early 2000s.

But just Sega in general I guess, PlayStation can go s^&* it for murdering them out of the market like that. Good times with the Dreamcast especially.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch for shows, I think that was the first Live-Action show I watched religiously and understood

And The Simpsons for cartoons

Other things:

Furbies
Rugrats
Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers
Power Rangers
Beakman's World
Batman TAS
Disney's Recess
Hey Arnold
Lisa Frank merch.

I'm not so much going off of my favorites as much as I what I remember and associate the most with my childhood in the 1990's.

Film: 'Jurassic Park,' easily. I was obsessed with dinosaurs because of the movie in my childhood ('Land Before Time' also contributed but was from the 1980's).

Television: 90's Nickelodeon in general but also 'Seinfeld,' 'South Park,' and 'The Simpsons' which I couldn't help but be exposed to during my youth.

Video Games: Pokemon, by far! There is a little overlap there with television too, though I never really liked the TV series since I f***ing hated Ash and couldn't identify with him, even at age five or whatever. I was barely able to read when I first picked up my Gameboy to play Pokemon Blue and even though I didn't know how to pronounce "paralyzed" I was a better Pokemon Trainer than Ash's worthless ass!

Power Rangers, Xmen, Krueger. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Coincidentally, Wolverine had 3 claws and Freddy had 4 claws
Also, Karate was a martial art of Turtles and Power Rangers.

Both had similar phenomena
