Manchin 49
Morrissey 42

With Blankenship:
Manchin 46
Morrissey 35
Blankenship 11

If/when a PDF or something comes out for the full poll, I'll edit to include that.

I doubt it. West Virginia voters are economic-thinking pragmatists and I seriously doubt they'll be swayed by SCOTUS like an Orange County conservative would be.

Even Robert Byrd had to vote yes on Sam Alito in 2006. Manchin might be in trouble if he votes no on Supreme Court.

Manchin will surely vote for any nominee Trump puts up.

Yeah, I really dont see Manchin voting no unless Collins or Murkowski vote no. That goes for all red state dems. Schumer will only hold the line and put red state senators at risk if it actually stop's whomever Trump nominates.

no one cares about the Supreme Court. No one cares about how their senator voted for it. In the news cycle we live in, this issue will be forgotten quickly. The shutdown was said to drown Democratic chances. That guy who was a doctor, I think, and Tester opposed him, i thought that was suppost to be the issue that brought him down. Partisans may care about the SC, but they were going to vote anyway. The issues that matter for the actual swing voters are the economy, healthcare and tariffs. These actually impact their lives and can actually swing elections.

The most likely outcome is that Kennedy is replaced by someone more conservative before the end of the summer, so it won't directly impact the elections. The only way Trump can bungle it is by nominating a Roy Moore-type, i.e. someone even Republicans will balk at confirming.

Manchin, and for that matter Donnelly, Heitkamp, and McCaskill, are thanking the good Lord that they have the chance to vote for a Trump SCOTUS nominee weeks before the election.

Yes, can be very helpful for them. I have no idea how the others will vote, but I can almost guarantee you that Manchin and Heitkamp will be supporting President Trump's nominee.

Dang, Blankenship is strong in this poll. Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see if he’ll get on the ballot and if this is just the usual overstated 3rd party total.

So I take it Blankenship is planning to mount a write-in campaign? Because West Virginia has sore loser laws in place that prevent losing candidates in Republican or Democratic primaries from filing to run as Independents.

Manchin's favorables in this poll (39-48) are worrying. Of course, Morrisey's are worse (30-44) but not a great sign.

And Jim Justice is at 27-47.  Of course, life always sucks in WV.  Trump is at 64 approval though because dumbs.

25% of Clinton voters in WV have an unfavourable opinion of Manchin in this poll, so that explains a part of it.

Lean D, would have been a Tossup with Jenkins. It will be pretty amusing if top-tier recruit Morrisey loses by more than unelectable joke candidate Matt Rosendale.

Agreed on the first two words, but I'll leave out the random conjecture.

I’m curious about the method too
