I am writing to announce the formation of a new political party.  The Constitarian Party is a new party with old beliefs.  We believe that the time has come for the American people to stand up for their rights and demand that unconstitutional legislature, such as the Patriot Act, is immediately revoked.  Other than reinstating the Constitution as a governing document for the nation, the party also plans to change the education plans of the country to ensure that the U.S will remain the world's most advanced military and economy.  One other major aspect on the Constitarian agenda is to stop the current trend of the United States supporting the rest of the world.  We plan on withdawing from the UN, because the UN is just a large group of countries taking American money so they can send US troops to do their bidding.  The UN lost all credibility when they failed to risist the invasion of a fellow UN nation (Iraq) by an unprovoked force.  If anyone has any questions or disagreements with these or other issues, feel encouraged to write me at constitarian@yahoo.com or posting here.

The PATRIOT Act is hardly unconstitutional. Good luck though.

The Constitarian Party is similar to the Constitution Party, but it has a few major differences such as the education plan.

Nah, they slow things down and nothing really comes out of them, and there's a lot for the next party to clean up from them.

Lol, couldn't hurt.

On a serious note, is this party as uber-religious as the Constitution party, or are they more secular politics wise?

And what's with the view on the UN?  You oppose it yet you believe it should have fought against the US when it attempted to overthrow a totalitarian dictator.  I didn't even necesarily support the war, but this is an outrageous sugestion.

Shouldn't members of the Contrarian party oppose their own platform, or at least define themselves by what they oppose?

Suggested contrarian platform:

The constitution is unconstitutional.
Manditory abortions for anyone who wants children.   No abortions for minors under 16.
A graduated tax rate so that the poor pay about 40-50% of their income, and the well off pay little to nothing in taxes.
Nuke all members of NATO.  Rebuild the Soviet empire.
All legal disputes to be settled in the thunderdome.
Criminal trials will be settled the old fashoned way - bind them, throw them in a river, and if they float - kill them.
Disputed elections will be decided by Klingon ritual.  The PPV income alne should easily pay for the related costs.

I'm sure I could come up with more, though if you're serious you probably want a better name.  Tongue.

Constitrarian, not Contrarian. Still, it's not a name that exactly flows off the tongue, among other things.

Apparently I have to clear up a few things.  Constitarian is pronounced constit as in consititution, and arian pronounced like the end of libertarian.  I don't hear it pronounced anything like constipation, really contrarian was the only understandable mistake.  Secondly, the party does not care about religion.  If your Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Atheist, or Satanist we just don't care about anything but fighting for your constitutional rights.  Thirdly, the Patriot Act is unconstitutional.  There is no way to defend it, it has trampled all over the Bill of Rights, and has failed to catch terrorists, not that it would be a just reason.  Finally, the UN was created to stop the invasion of nations, especially those in the UN from being invaded by other countries.  When the UN failed to put troops on the border of Iraq to defend it, they failed to  do their sole purpose in existence.  Even before that I thought the UN was a waste of money and troops from the United States' point of view.

It's a great idea... but joining a newly formed party with the inention of running for office is political suicide.

Maybe when I run for president I'll switch parties.

And I'm not wild about your stance on the UN.

Finally, the UN was created to stop the invasion of nations, especially those in the UN from being invaded by other countries.
The UN isn't a military alliance. The main purpose of the UN is to be an international fora for international disputes. Now, whether it's effective or not is a different debate entirely, but it's direct purpose isn't to keep countries from invading each other- if so, it would have failed a long time ago.
