The election is likely still rigged, Putin just lets nevalny run to make it look more authentic.

Either Putin stuffs the ballots, he has Nalvany killed, or he invades some neighboring country a few weeks before the election (maybe Ukraine again... or Poland?).

There is literally no way he lets Nalvany win, or even get close.

Even in a fair and square election I don't see Navalny winning, not even close.

Putin wins getting at least 66% of the vote. Putin really didn't need to rig the election, he would have won a 100% fair election as well (albeit with a lower share obviously)

Absolutely. Navalny ceiling is about 20-25% in 1-on-1 race. Yes, Putin loses popularity (especially -  with plans to reform Russian retirement system (increase retirement age)), and his personal rating is about 60% now (just as it was before Crimea events), but that's still enough to win election handily. What will happen closer to end of his term - another matter.

Putin will rig it by some means, and let Navalny get to 25% or even 30% to look authentic, and/or maybe some kind of fabricated or real compromising evidence/footage comes out.

Early 2018 was the best period for Putin in opinion polls, Navalny would get about 15%
