Speech regarding Foreign policy

1) The King of France wishes peace and stability with his neighbours. And that is for this reason that the King of France will not sign any new alliances with other european powers, as he believes it would cause a lot of tensions in Europe. However, the Kingdom of France is united by blood with the Kingdom of Spain, the Kingdom of Sardinia Piedmont and the Duchy of Modena. The King of France will retaliate against any realms trying to invade their european borders.

2) As Adam Smith said, increasing trade favours peace. The Kingdom of France is looking to expand its trade with the european realms. Lowering tariffs on trades with the Kingdom of Spain is a great victory.

We in Portugal feel the sorrow that the Kingdom of Portugal feels for the loss of Frederick II and will send an Emissary to accompany the Funeral of the great king

We would also like to announce that we will end the exile of Pombal and he will become the interim Parliamentary President until the Election this year decides who becomes our first elected Parliamentary President.

The Election will be held on December 16th every 7th year to decide a new Parliament of Representation and the one with a majority of 151 or higher can have the leader of the group or Coalition become the new Parliamentary President. A snap Election can be held after 6 months if 175 or more seats vote in favor of such a thing. After 6 months, an Election will be held on the 17th of the last month for a Snap Election.

The Kingdom of Portugal is interested in opening relations with Prussia, Spain, Russia, Scandanavia, the Ottomans, Britain, and the Netherlands in the cause for trade between all our countries.

On the issue of Slavery, the issue is still quite volatile within our Empire, but we shall send an Observer to take notes on the proposed Congress of Vienna.

Finally, we would like to announce that we'll be allowing a full year lease for the Colony of East Timor to have joint Control of the Colony for a year to help expand the wealth of another country.

The King of France applauds the recent announcement of General Kosciuszko to end the religious persecutions that all Catholics faced in Poland for more than 20 years. We can only hope this announcement will be followed by concrete actions regarding this matter.

Statement regarding the Portuguese-Ottoman-Prussia

The King of France believes that what happened to Portugal is a punishment for Queen Maria's blatant scheming and warmongering against the Very Christian realm that is the Kingdom of France.  The Kingdom of Portugal having moved almost all its army to India is clearly a direct attempt to engage hostilities against the Kingdom of France in its colonies. The King of France would like to personally thank the Kingdom of Prussia and the Ottoman Empire for having made these preemptive strikes. Had they not done so, it is in the King's opinion that the Portuguese army would have tried to invade French India without even a proper war declaration.

Regarding the Starvation crisis

The Kingdom of France is more than pleased to announce the signature of the "Avoiding starvation treaty" with the Russian Empire:

The best way to reduce the risk of starvation is to reduce the cost of buying food. We are pleased to announce that all tariffs on agricultural goods have been abolished between the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of France, meaning that the food prices will go down a bit with this policy.
Additionnally, abolishing tariff on industrial goods will increase trade even more and both realms will greatly benefit it.

On the Bavarian succession

The King of France is extremely saddened by the end of the negotiations between the King of Prussia and the King of Bohemia and Hungary. As it appears that the negotiations have failed, the King of France would like to reiterate his advocacy for peace in Europe. Thus, the King of France hopes the negotiations will restart between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Holy Roman Empire.


As it seems that war is inevitable. The King of France declares himself neutral in this conflict, as it is in his opinion that the Bavarian succession should be decided by Germans, as long as this conflict doesn't evolve into an another world war where the balance of power risks to be broken. Avoiding the break up of the balance of power in Europe  is France's most important interest.

Venice once again urges both Austria and Prussia to act with restraint reagrding the situation in Bavaria. The last thing Europe needs is another major war while the recover continues from the wars earlier in the century.

Venice will take no side in this conflict, as the belligerence of both sides has shown that neither is interested in talking with the other. Nevertheless, we will see to our nation's defence.

All Venetian soldiers currently in Venice and its European territories are ordered to muster at their barracks and prepare for war, should conflict reach our borders. All Venetian sailors are likewise ordered to do the same and commence patrol duties in our waters.

Maybe France and Venetia could form a League of Neutrality!

The King of France is pleased to announce the signature of this treaty with thr president of the Republic of Poland.

The King of France, for the record, never took part into this "supposed" partition plan of Poland.

Statement regarding foreign policy

In all the wars happening across the world, the King of France wishes to maintain his neutrality as long as possible. The King of France is perfectly aware that remaining neutral will become more and more difficult in the long term considering wars risk to break the current balance of power.

That's why the King of France is proposing his mediation for peace, like what is happening about the Spanish-Portuguese war. Continuing the wars will be beneficial for absolutely no one, it will result in the killing of many innocent civiians, something the King of France wishes to spare his subjects as much as he can.
